Owner
Crystal Crist is the Owner of Compassionate Beauty, Calgary’s premier cancer and hair loss boutique. Passionate about helping women feel confident and supported during some of life’s most difficult moments, Crystal has dedicated her career to building a compassionate, private, and welcoming space for individuals experiencing hair loss and breast cancer-related changes. Through her leadership, she has cultivated a caring and knowledgeable team committed to providing exceptional support and personalized care to every client who walks through the door. Outside of work, Crystal is a devoted wife and proud mother of two amazing boys who keep her busy with hockey and football. She is also deeply committed to supporting Calgary’s cancer community through local partnerships, education, and advocacy.
Cynthia Amato-King
General Manager
Cynthia Amato-King was born in Italy and moved to Canada with her family at just 2 years old. A devoted wife, mother of two, and proud grandmother of two, Cynthia treasures time with her family and has been happily married to her husband for over 20 years. With more than 40 years of experience as a hairstylist, Cynthia brings both incredible skill and genuine compassion to her role as General Manager at Compassionate Beauty, where she has been a valued member of the team for over 12 years. She is passionate about helping women look and feel their very best, and her caring nature and dedication to her clients shine through in everything she does.
Michelle Edwards
Hair Stylist & Wig technician
Michele Edwards was born and raised in Calgary before moving to British Columbia in 1989, where she spent 30 years building a successful career as a stylist. After three decades on the West Coast, she returned to her roots in Calgary, bringing with her a wealth of experience, creativity, and passion for her craft. Michele now lives on an acreage just outside the city with her husband and their lively crew of animals—four horses, four dogs, and three chickens—which keep life full and entertaining. For the past seven years, Michele has been a valued member of the Compassionate Beauty team. Known for her skill, warmth, and attention to detail, she excels as both a hair stylist and wig technician, helping clients look and feel their very best with care and expertise.
Glory Jansen
Hair Stylist & Wig Technician
Glory was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and moved to Calgary in 1998 while expecting her only child. With more than 40 years of experience in the hairstyling industry, she has spent many years specializing in wigs, alternative hair, and hair systems. As Compassionate Beauty’s resident expert in hair systems and hair system cut-ins, Glory is known for her precision, creativity, and ability to create natural, confidence-boosting results for her clients. Glory is passionate about helping people look and feel their best. Her gentle nature, extensive experience, and genuine care for her clients help make every appointment a supportive and uplifting experience.
